It’s the Fuzz

I needle felt. It’s a form of soft sculpture in which you take wool roving and shape it into the general form you want, and then you poke it a lot with barbed needles. The barbs on the needles knit the fibers together and you create a shape. Using this process I make jaunty vegetables, wee mice, snarky narwhals, knowing felines, humorous hermit crabs, lazy sloths and whatever else my brain boils up. At holiday markets I like to focus on making ornaments out of my felted friends, but I do also offer other versions of my nonsense: I have wall hangings and magnets, bottle stoppers and wearables, not to mention general knick-knackery. My work is whimsical and a bit silly, and hopefully elicits a few laughs along the way.
